ABOUT THE CHEQUEGNAT FESTIVAL
Chequegnat is sponsored every year by the neighbours of "Chequegnat Common" and by Morrison-Reist law firm. Thanks very much!
Chequegnat began when singing in the back yard inspired the neighbours, who thought that it would be a nice idea to host a music party for friends and family, and build community.
Chequegnat is a music festival, with plenty of folk music but open to all acoustic forms.
Chequegnat is a neighbourhood Barbeque. The neighbours provide burgers and the people bring salads, desserts, munchies, and a veritable feast!
Chequegnat is postponed until next year, if the weather is bad.
Chequegnat is, in part, an end of season celebration, showcase, and Thank You from The Old Chestnuts Song Circle
Chequegnat has won major awards at the Kitchener Festival of Neighbourhoods.
Chequegnat is face painting for the young and young-minded; caricatures; art on display.
Chequegnat is a place for kids to play and compete at jelly bean counts and scavenger hunts.
Chequegnat is entirely run on volunteer energy! From organizers to musicians to cooks.
Chequegnat was supported in 2008 by spOtlight ("Celebrate Our Artists"), a venture of the Ontario Arts Council and Government of Ontario! We thank them very much for their support.
Chequegnat welcomes donations; they help pay for sound equipment, food, drinks for the musicians..... and when there is some left over we donate it to a worthy cause.
Chequegnat is only open to invited guests. This is to keep the crowd to a manageable size. To help ensure this, the only washrooms available to you are in the house that invited you!
Chequegnat is something that you should do in YOUR community!!!
