The first of the Millennium. CC95 : The Cookie Campaign and Part II : The 1996 Winners Presentation. The annual Saint James High School major fund raiser. We sold cookies and we sold well. For CC95, the school enlisted Lanny Cardow, David Hermann, Stephen Marcotte, and myself, Andrew Manera, to write, produce, and direct the almighty kick-off assembly to awe and motivate all students. CC95 was presented in an Academy Awards style. With a video contest held prior to the show to create cookie home movies, we had plenty of material for the presentation. We presented awards to the winners of that contest who were then received by a thousand screaming St. James Lions. With 3D Studio generated Intros and credits, a 3000 watt PA system, a 20 foot screen w/ front projector, 1 jumbo spotlight, and a host of other fixins, we stunned the entire school. The combination of live improv and video was astounding. For Part II, in early 1996, we were to create a presentation to celebrate our sales successes and to present awards to the top sellers in our school. Entitled Winners, it was a total video presentation; a mass of edited video that combined to form one of our most complicated and rewarding shows to date.

Mission Impossible. The name alone says WOW! The crew gains a member for CC96, Maura Grierson. As well, a major change : St. James HS now sells World's Finest Chocolate Covered Almonds and Chocolate Bars. The crew forsaw an even more spectacular show : triple the impact, triple the power, triple the complexity. We wrote, we casted, we filmed, we edited, we freaked out, we never rehearsed. Our show contained effects such as actors on screen interacting with actors on stage, video action that co-ordinated with live action and pyrotechnics. System wise : A stage, two lighting racks, two jumbo spotlights, a 20 foot video screen w/ rear video projector (nice touch), a 6000 watt PA system, two pyrotechnic flash pods, two lavaliered actors, tonnes of extras, a massive 32 channel mixer board, plus lots of caution tape. It was an amazing show. With no rehearsals, there were a few glitches, but no one was injured and the show was still a massive hit. We have forever changed the manner in which chocolate will be sold in our school. Ending with the classic "Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to sell chocolate to all those in need. Good Luck." This presentation will self-destruct in 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. FIN.

The Finale. The Last Hurrah. Our last show. Our GREATEST show. Star Wars. Enough said. If Mission Impossible was huge, Star Wars is gargantuan. Here are a few things to encourage the drooling process : massive stage, live choreographed fight sequences, live-video interaction, jumbo spotlights, huge video screen w/ rear video projector, a 7000 watt PA system, 7 lavaliered main actors and actresses, hosts of secondary characters, and a screaming crowd of over a thousand students and special guests. Come. Experience the Greatest Show on Earth. Invitation Only. If you can't feel it, it's not loud enough. CC97 Star Wars : 9 October 1997.
